VIC SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol

This unit of competency, SITHFAB002 Provide service of alcohol, covers the skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell or serve alcohol in Victoria.

Responsible service practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold or served, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. It applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold or served, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries, and distilleries.

Licensees and staff who are subject to mandatory RSA requirements have one month from the date they first sell, offer for sale or serve liquor on a licensed premise to complete an approved RSA training course.

A person under the age of 18 can complete an approved RSA training course but not serve or sell alcohol.

Once you have completed the initial Victorian RSA course, you must complete a free online refresher course every three years, click here if you need to complete the Victorian RSA refresher.
